Shimano Cardiff XR C2000SHG

Shimano Cardiff XR – a high-end reel designed for ultra-light (UL) spinning and trout fishing. With its elegant design and ultra-light weight (only 155 g!), this reel pairs perfectly with light rods, providing excellent balance. It features a specially engineered precise-drag system, optimized for use with the latest ultra-thin lines.

Looking for a specialized reel that balances light spinning rods while providing consistent accuracy and finesse? The Cardiff XR is exactly that. Its round cork handle and dark green pearlescent finish make it stand out visually from other Shimano products. The reel offers a smooth rotation for precise lure control at your fingertips, and anglers using ultra-thin lines will appreciate the highly sensitive front drag, calibrated for the lightest lines.

As expected from a top-tier Shimano reel designed for light spinning, the Cardiff XR incorporates numerous advanced technologies. The lightweight CI4+ body features a G-FREE design, ensuring optimal balance with ultra-light rods. The internal HAGANE gear, X-SHIP, Micro Module II, and Silent Drive work together to deliver smooth and efficient rotation, further enhanced by the latest low-inertia MGL rotor, providing exceptionally light and responsive operation. This is particularly advantageous when working with small lures and precise control. Designed for techniques like Aero Trout and Native Trout, which often require ultra-thin lines, the Cardiff XR also includes a specially engineered spool washer, giving anglers confidence when fighting fish close to the net.
