XESTA Runaway SLS

XESTA Runaway SLS – a fantastically crafted and perfectly balanced spinning rod, ideal for riverbank anglers targeting chub, pike, and even the most coveted catch – the river queen, salmon. It performs best when casting its intended metal-based lures, such as spoons or vibes, but also handles well with lures like traditional soft plastics rigged on jig heads. From extensive experience, we can say that the rod is most comfortable casting lures that fall around the mid-range of the manufacturer’s recommended weight, i.e., 10–20 g. Approaching the maximum 30 g, the blank feels slightly overloaded; in such cases, we recommend opting for the more powerful Runaway SRF 10ML version. It’s important to note that the blank is fast and very sensitive compared to most other Seabass-type rods, making it ideal for traditional jigging techniques. The XESTA Runaway SLS series rods were originally designed by Japanese manufacturers for Super Light Jigging (SLS) from shore, targeting sea fishing. Unlike our usual jigging, which uses jig heads with soft plastics, this method involves casting small pilkers and using sharp tugs to fish the entire vertical water column, casting as far from shore as possible.
