Okuma Ceymar CHD 3000A

The Okuma Ceymar HD (CHD) is the new 2023 upgrade to the legendary Ceymar series, redesigned from the ground up with one goal: maximum strength with ultra-smooth performance. Built on the modern "HD" (Heavy Duty) platform, this reel delivers exceptional durability and power while maintaining feather-light rotation. At the heart of the Ceymar HD is the HDG-II drive system (High Density Oversized Gearing) — enlarged, high-density gear teeth that increase torque, improve durability, and ensure stable power even under heavy load. The screw-in aluminium handle provides a solid, flex-free connection for maximum cranking strength. One of the biggest improvements is Okuma’s innovative frictionless main shaft system. The redesigned pinion is partially cut out in the centre to reduce contact with the main shaft, dramatically decreasing friction during rotation. This results in smoother, lighter, more effortless handle turning — even with the reel under pressure. Combined with a shaft stabilisation system and precision engineering, the Ceymar HD offers a truly refined feel while remaining tough enough for predator fishing, general spinning, and heavier lure work.
